Default VTEC not engaging after valve adjustment?

Hey, so I searched up this issue and its pretty vague answers. So pretty much I was doing a valve adjustment on my car cold, blah blah, checked clearances all perfect. BUT I went the wrong direction on the valves, and everything was really loose. Waited all night again, redid everything in the morning, perfect. No more loud ticking, idles perfect, and everything is nice and dandy. But now everytime I go past 6k or whatever, I don't feel the slight "jolt" or "kick" that the VTEC usually gives. It just feels suttle almost as nothing ever happened.

And yes, VTEC worked fine before the valve adjustment. Car is a 2001 and has 90k miles, bone stock besides K&N Filter and Invidia Exhaust.

I could try again, I am afraid to push it since I am on my 3rd speeding ticket. (not for being a ricer fyi)

Did that this morning, everything is plugged in. I also forgot to mention I sprayed a bunch of engine degreaser around that area because there was a small trail of what appears to be a very old leak to see if it would come back. No leak so far.

I guess its a common thing, mine had an old leak too so I opened up the top on the solenoid and it started leaking more so I made a gasket out of liquid gasket maker and now my vtec doesn't work either. I'm working on my issuue as well

Guess I'm not gunna do a valve adjustment or upgrade to ap2 retainers cus I see a lot of issues after doing it. I'm scared now and my car runs fine. Anyone else feel like this? Its gotta be the valve adjustment you did re do it and reset ecu and report back. And any of you notice the engine running better after doing this anyways?

It's weird why there is no cel

Plug in a scanner and see I'd there is anything pending

Could be the cam sensor plugs on the back but that's about it unless you removed something

The engine doesn't know much about the valve adjustment and operates as normal

Only thing is to make sure the v tec solenoid is plugged in

Yeah, I'm going to fix that dumb leak with gasket maker as well. Thank god I have some in my toolbox.

I am going to try and reset my ECU and see if the filter is clogged.

Before you use that liquid gasket maker read my thread. I would recommend gasket paper instead.
