If i want to clean the filter after taking the 3 bolts off, will the oil pour out or just a little thats already in there? dont need a major mess. I also heard the best solution to clean it is Brake Clean, anyone hear different?

thanks a lot

Brake clean evaporates clean so im sure it would not harm anything.

You will get a bit! Tilt the solenoid back once you have taken it off or it will leak all over. The bolts will be pretty oily too.

None will come out of the block though. Taken mine off many times!

The only cause for the screen to be clogged is if the oil hasn't been changed regularly. If the car has had regular oil changes, ther eis no need to clean anything.

Sludge blocking the screen and can cause a P1259 code stored, with no VTEC operation.

I dont know why many members feel the need to clean this screen. Like slows2k said, if you have been doing your oil changes on time, no need to clean the screen.

If you wanna do somthing to make you feel manly, replace the cabin filter, top off and check all fluids or do a clutch bleed. Im sure there are many things your S needs that surpass the vtec screen cleaning.
