Are you talking about the tires? If so, the chirp comes from the tires loosing traction.

If not the tires then the tranny which is grinding which is not a good thing.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but when mine chirps in second gear, I see twin black strips of rubber about 6' long on the road.

maybe the car had a turbo kit and you were hearing the BOV(blow off valve). it sounds like a chirp or woosh of air.

i'm gonna guess it was a shift indicator (for lack of a better word) that chirps at a certain set rpm, i know a few guys have them on the board. It's pretty much like a shift light except it makes noise instead of lighting up.

The chirping he refers to is often the noise made when shifting and breaking traction.

Your tires mainly make the noise. An aftermarket clutch would make it easier to "chirp."

Clarifying question; did the S chirp at every shift or just with the lower gears?

it was in the lower gears , it chirped 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd , and i think it was a little bit of a chirp in 3rd to 4th but not much.
