Default Water Guage Install

You guys out there that are running AEM and don't get the stock water temp. to work. Where do you tap a auto-meter water temp. guage into? I hate driving my car not knowing if it's going to over-heat! Thanks.

If you look at this picture, I have a Greddy adapter in the top radiator hose. That is where I installed mine.

Jeff, Nice engine bay
Some people will say that is not the best place to get accurate coolant readings only because it is not reading the temp in the block until the thermo opens and circulates the coolant, I think it's fine - If you do not have the Hondata gasket you could tap into the hose that goes between the bleeder valve at the front of the valve cover and the throttle body with standard 1/8 NPT fittings found at Home Depot, The supply for that hose is before the thermostat and circulates coolant from the block through the intake manifold through the throttle body to the bleeder valve at the front of the valve cover.
or if you are like me and have the Hondata, I have bypassed that coolant flow because even though I have the Hondata - Hot water still is in the intake mani because the supply from the thermostat is still connected to the intake manifold so, I disconnected the coolant supply to the manifold and routed it to the bleeder valve at the front of the valve cover and drilled the hondata gasket where it blocks the coolant flow and now I have an accurate block coolant temp not dependant on the thermostat being open! I hope this makes sense?

Here are a couple threads showing two different types of water temp guages. Both sensors were installed in the same hose. Just remember to ground the sensor and make sure the sensor points down:

This location will give you a reading of the coolant temp right from the first number on your guage as the engine warms up.

you can also get Modifry's ECT module for the EMS, to get the stock gauge working again.
