Default Weird Idle

Hey guys, first posting on the international forum and have a little issue with my car, hopefully you guys can help. I just installed a head on my car (old one had bent valves) and after everything was done, when I started up my car it idles from 1000RPM to 3000 RPM constantly. Any ideas on what the issue could be? It drives fine it's just the idle issue.

Sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere. Recheck all your hoses and lines going to the intake and intake manifold.

I did and they seem fine. Could it be the gasket? For the intake manifold.

It's possible, however unlikely as you would most likely be leaking coolant too from the rear water passage. Tough to say for sure though. Is there a check engine light on?

Idle Air Control Valve. Seen it plenty of times. Start by cleaning it out with some brake cleaner. If that doesnt work purchase a new one. They are around $80 the last time i bought one.

I'll give it a shot and hope it works! I'll post up the results. Would the intake manifold gaskets be a part of the problem?

I ended up cleaning the IACV and it fixes the revs from 1000 to 3000 but now it's a constant flicker between 1000 and 1500.

I would just replace it. Its not hurting anything now so your safe to drive like that. Just annoying lol. The fact that cleaning it helped indicates thats where the issue lies. Maybe try to clean it a 2nd time and give it hell. Might fix it all together.
