Weird sound when clutch is not being pressed
So I have this weird thing thats been happening for maybe a month or 2, where when I start the car, and really anytime the clutch isn't being pressed slightly a weird noise comes out. Can anyone help me identify it? I put an video clip in as well.
If I recall correctly, if there is a throwout bearing issue, shouldn't the sound happen when I press the clutch instead of when I release it? The sound is present when there is 0 pressure applied on the clutch. It's sounds perfectly fine when the clutch is slightly pressed in, as you can see in the video I barely press in the clutch all the way. Regardless, thanks for your input!
Could be an input shaft bearing noise or throwout bearing noise.
The throw out bearing is always spinning at engine speed.
The input shaft bearing is spinning at engine speed only when the clutch is engaged.

Hopefully its the throwout bearing. Honda calls it a Release Bearing.
Often these exhibit your symptoms when they go bad. The bearing is always spinning wirh engine. Its unloaded when clutch is not pressed, and loaded when it is.
While perhaps counterintuitive, its not unusual for a bearing noise to go away when its loaded.

I hope it's that too, and nothing more serious. I'll look into the release bearing as you said. Also, would it just be easier to replace my clutch entirely? I'm due for an upgrade, so would upgrading it solve my issue? Thanks!
An old TO bearing is usually loose, crunchy and rough feeling/sounding cuz wear and deprived of grease, or worse, seals gone and exposed bearings and dry.
Un-depressed it will exhibit those loose crunchy sounds more.
Depressed, it will hide those loose crunchy sounds, cuz it's all under pressure and not loose and rattling around.

@snayl Neither your profile nor these messages offer us the slightest hint of what version and year S2000 you're driving, modifications, or mileage on the car... "Due for an upgrade" is all we've got.
