Default What to check...?

Hi All,

I am at about 18k miles on my '07. I just replaced my diff, tranny and engine fluid (I had also recently replaced my air and cabin filters). What else should I be checking on the car? I am new to DIY and had previously relied on stealerships to check everything for me.

Why not look at the recommended maintenance chart in the Owner's Manual?

^Agree.

Other stuff - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just enjoy! Oh, keep an eye on oil level, tire pressures, and cops.

This and replace your brake fluid every 1-2 years.

What diff fluid did you use? Make sure you didn't get VTM-4 from your dealer, it is designed for CRVs and will kill S2k diffs.

There is a good chance they did. If you can't find out for sure I'd stop driving it until the correct fluid is put in there.

It's an easy diy with a few tools.

Check the oil at least every time you fill up at a gas station. I believe that's what the manual says. And given all the engine failures people have seen due to low oil, it's the absolute best thing you could do to ensure a long life for your car.

I check it about once every week and there were countless times where I caught the oil level getting lower after driving hard.

I would just change it for peace of mind. Parts should run no more than $15 given you have the tools to do it. I believe it's a 23mm for the drain bolt and 21mm for the fill? I can't remember.
