Default what clutch setup should I use

I know this topic has been brought up many times already
but I would like some advice on what clutch setup I should go with. I have done so many searches and I am still unsure whats best. too many pros and cons on all the setups i have researched.

I will either buy a Toda or a Spoon flywheel

but im unsure if to go with:

Act
star stage II
clutchmaster

This car will be a daily driver with some street and strip and I will also be buying a Vortech SC

thanks

Spoon and Toda are both good. You might not benefit too much if the flywheel is too light cuz it will upset the balance of the crankshaft which will decreases the torque of the F20 engine.

I have the Spoon Flywheel/Star Stage II combo and use my car as a daily driver. The people at Star recommended Stage II for daily drivers. It has noticeably more grip than the factory clutch and is still mildly forgiving. The Toda or Spoon flywheel should be fine. The Spoon is very responsive. Also noticeable over the factory FW. Goodluck and hope this helped.

I believe the problems with the Star clutches were with the Stage III clutch. I could be wrong, so you may want to do a search. The only problem I am having is that the idiot who installed my clutch screwed up my starter motor, but that was not a result of the clutch or flywheel. He forgot to secure the 10X80mm bolt, which is very difficult to get to.

Does the Star Stage II handle slipping well, as in slipping the clutch while holding high RPMs?

I am not sure what you mean. Can you describe what you are talking about a little more specifically?

I'm referring to launching the car without a 7k RPM clutch dump but using clutch modulation to keep the engine revs high. With the stock clutch, any attempt to do this will result in that nasty smell and lack of clutch clamping until the clutch has cooled down and glazing worn off.

I'd like to be able to be able to launch with more strain on the clutch (slipping) and less strain on the rest of the drivetrain (don't want to blow diffs, CV joints, etc.).

jguerdat,
I have not done any clutch drops on my Star clutch yet. I have only had it on the car for approximately 1k miles. My car also has forced induction so I am not sure if the clutch performance would be the same on your car. It has been rainy here in NC the past few days. As soon as we have a clear, dry day I will take the car out and try slipping the clutch to hold high RPM's. I am guessing it might not be strong enough, reason being that the clutch is still somewhat forgiving and to slip the clutch I would imagine you would need something stronger like Stage III.
