Default What do you think of this for an oil catch can

Hi guys,
I've been looking at buying/making an oil catch can and ran across this:
Ingersoll Rand oil separator

I was going to get this: Jeg's oil separator

But I think the Ingersoll looks pretty good.
Any comments?

The IR model is for an air compressor.

Yeah, lots of people use air compressor filters/separators as catch cans. The IR just seems a lot better built than the Husky:
AZ Solo's home made catch can

check the catch can label before you buy, some catch can's plastic housing is not rated for syn oil.

my old catch can slowly develop crack on the clear plastic housing(spider crack, no leakage yet), it could be a combination of underhood temp and using syn oil.

husky outsource tons of their tools, the air compressor by husky is made by another company, there's really no way to know, maybe IR made husky's accessories.

just avoid the quick release flip valve, we used them at work and they almost always break at the valve within couple months.

They remove the oil vapor from the PCV system (top of the head) so it is not sucked back into the intake manifold. The catch can, depending on how well it is designed, traps the oil and accumulates it in a reservoir (or returns it to the sump in some cases) and lets the filtered blow-by gases continue to the intake manifold to maintain the function of the PCV system.

Why would oil vapors be inside the intake manifold?

Makes so much sense now. That whole process never even crossed my mind.
