Is there anything that cleans K&N filters other than K&N filter cleaner, that does as good as it does?

There are other filter cleaners out there, but since you need to re-oil it after you clean it, why wouldn't you just buy the K&N which includes the cleaner and the oil?

Supposedly, soap and water should clean it, but it's probably worth the trip to the parts store. You should be able to get the cleaner by it self, not just in the kit. The important step is re-oiling it.

According to the instructions, any light detergent should do the same job. My guess is that anything that dissolves their oil should do it.
