Default what is the maxium engine temperature on S2000???

ON the track, We usually keep our RPM around 7000-9000 RPM. The engine oil Temp usually above 135 celsius. The max Temp I got from the track was 148 celsius. Does anybody know how hot can the oil Temp can gets without hurting the engine?

Modern full synthetic oils are good to about 190-200C before starting to break down (in terms of viscosity and protective ability). Lesser "dino" oils will break down much sooner, perhaps not too far above the 148C mark you've seen.

What's important is that you avoid sustained operation at extreme temperatures. Its likely that coolant and oil temps will move in concert, so keep a close eye and cool down if things are getting too hot.

Ideally, you'd want to add an oil cooler to keep oil temps between 100-120C while on track.

so u mean if the oil temp pass 120C for too long, something will operate abnormal. You suggest me to get an oil cooler right? Even the good oil will break down at 200C, we still cant let the oil temp go up near that? Since mobil1 said the oil can protect engine until 200C and above(I for got how high). Thats why Im asking how hot can this engine go. Can engine still run good before the oil break point or has a certain Temp range cant pass that.

once the oil temp goes up around 140 the car will loss power, is better to get an oil cooler. I'm going to get one soon.

of course is going to hurt the engine, but if you have a oil cooler installed then you won't be worry about the oil temp anymore.
high temp is not good for the engine, so just get a oil cooler then the problem will be solve.
