Default What Oil to use here

Hi guys,

I plan on getting some Redline full synthetic for my car, however does it matter if its 5w30 or 10w30?? the car is not a daily driver, however I do put on about 150 - 200kms a week ripping around the city.

Any suggestions as to whats best for the engine?

Thank you,

Good question. I will have to double check in the morning, however I've seen a few posts now of people running both. Is there any added benefit with choosing one over the other?

there's already an eight page thread on this issue, do we really need another?

Mobil 1 EP, Amsoil, Redline, Motul...all good oils...0w-30, 5w-30, 10w-30, they all do they job, it's a question of minutia increases in performance

10w30 unless you live where its cold and then you would probably want 5w30 to help with cold starts.

I also run Redline (10w30) and love it.

well i live in chicago so it does get pretty cold in the winter if youve ever been to this city you know what i mean and i ran mobil1 synthetic 5w30 in my 99 Si for all 7 years that i owned it and it seemed to be ok other than it seemed like i burned alot of oil. i heard something about that with mobil1 on a thread on this forum so i dont know what it was.
