What tools are needed for a nub working on the S?
I am trying to learn how to work on my S2000 and would like to create my own "garage" so to speak. What do you all recommend I purchase to begin building my supply of tools?

2 torque wrenches, one in inch/lbs, the other in ft/lbs. I wouldn't tighten a single bolt on the car without a torque wrench.
10,12,14,17,19 MM box and open end wrenches and sockets. You can almost disassemble a Honda completely with those sizes.
What are your plans? Oil change level work or heavy maintainance?

I'd start with a metric ratchet set, metric box and open ended wrench set, torque wrench, breaker bar. you will also need some misc tools like 23mm (I believe) box wrench and socket to change diff fluid, oil filter wrench. jack + jack stands.
Here are a few good items to get
Harbor Freight Alum racing jack. The SEARS one won't fit under a lowered car.
Jack Stands
Good quality Screwdrivers (phillips and std)
Impact Screw driver and Rubber mallet
A 3/8 metric socket set (short and long)
A short and long 3/8 socket wrench
Extensions (wobble extensions are handy)
Nice tool box for all the items above
Funnels for fluid adding and clean up
Containers for oil.
Rags for spilled oil
The list goes on........
