Default What type of Redline mtl?

Hey guys ive been browsing threads for over an hour now and ive decided on the redline mtl for my my00. Well my question is though, were supposed to be running gl-5 right? The redline mtl 70W80 is only gl-4 rated....so im not sure what type exactly everyone is running and how they get such good results. Anyone have any input? Thanks in advance im so excited for the spring to bring out the s!

I've got mine at home. I will post what I've got tonight. I have tried Stock, Redline, GM, and Motul. I liked the Motul and Redline fluids equally.

Don't put GL-5 into your tranny, that's friggin hyphoid oil. Dang it, you've been reading the forums for over an hour?! Oh wow, impressive. How about opening the car's manual for specs?

you can either do straight MT-90 or MT-90/MTL

supposedly MT-90 / MTL gives a smoother shift when colder i cant feel the difference

this is my first time mixing MT90/MTL. i've always used straight MT90

most gl-5 fluid will kill your tranny synchros. Do not run it. Redline MTL is safe, it isn't a gl-5 though.

Honda MTF won't let you down, it's a good fluid.

MT90 GL-4 is the way to go. My only gripe with it is that hand pumps don't fit on the bottle, you need to pour it into a qt. bottle first. Also during the colder months it takes a few minutes of driving before the shifts get buttery.

Never use GL-5 in your transmission, it eats brass syncros like a fat kid.

How thick is it? I'm going to be putting some BG synchroshift 2 in it, but I've read its a little on the thinner side, so I wanted to thicken it up a bit and mix something in. I think I was reading about the Redline HWSP?
