Default What's everyone's thoughts on cheap ebay clutch kits?!

Just wondering what everyone opinion one ebay clutch kits? Start at 80.00 bucks. For aimco brand and several other brands for under 200. For a stock car. How long do you think they may last? I know it almost impossible to answer but just wondering what's everyone thoughts. If you were going to buy a cheap clutch on ebay what brand would you buy? There is used factory oem clutches on Craigslist for around a hundred would that be a better choice? Can you mix match the friction disc with different manufactures? Use different bearings? I don't drive the car much don't race don't abuse it but don't baby it. Just thinking about a cheaper alternative to get car back on the road. Thanks in advance everyone.

I believe the words, cheap and ebay will tell you what you're going to get out of the clutch kit. Why risk it? Not like swapping a clutch is as simple as an air filter. Go exedy or something similar if you feel the need to save some cash. There's no reason in putting the worst possible clutch in a transmission that was literally made by God himself.

Save up for an OEM clutch. That's the way to go.

The Exedy is a BAD choice. While I don't have any personal experience with it, I'm pretty sure there are many many threads here dealing with failure of that piece of crap. Their "OEM Replacement" clutch kits are apparently anything but.

I have used ebay clutch kits in a few other cars without issue but as said theres been many issues with even an exedy clutch and many other aftermarket clutches. Its not a job you want to do again in a short period of time.

Just say no to Exedy, and anything else that's "cheap." You'll spend double the price on install labor, and then get to do it all over again in a few thousand miles.

Oem only. Or add the ACT hd pressure plate if you're going fi.

OEM from Honda only, unless you want to do the clutch job multiple times

My Exedy replacement didn't have any issues for the other 20-30k miles I had my car before selling not sure if it does now but it felt good to me after having it put on but the long story short would be don't skimp on cheap parts that require double the cost in labor unless you're doing it yourself and just love tearing into your trans multiple times,
