I installed my HKS exhaust tonight...sounded great after i started the engine. I took her around the corner for the first ride with the exhaust...didn't go past 5 RPM. I could hear the engine and little exhaust note..but clearly had a high pitch sound. After i got on a wide open road i floored and redlined 3 gears...the sound was amazing...with the top down it sounded like i was between two motorcycles racing side by side. I shifted from 4th gear straight to 6th..the RPM dropped..but this time the sound was noticably louder at lower RPM...in fact i freaked out and thought it has a leak or two...i mean i could be paranoid...but anybody experience this? The difference between idle to 5RPM before redlining through 3 gears was much different comparing to the same RPM range note AFTER redlining 3 gears....is this a result of the computer adapting to the new change??

hey....it's normal...at lower Rpm's the deeper the sound is.
when in higher Rpm's it has a high pitch sound...
and the exhaust will get a bit louder in time....not too much louder. try with the intake cover off....much louder....i would suggest u do this when its much cooler out....like fall or winter
hope this helped..

are you sure that's normal? if so then phewww load off my chest. Um but anyway it's too bad the exhaust has to be underneath the car.....i mean it's way too beautiful to be hidden like that. worth every little penny....

Dont worry!
Your HKS looks sexy from behind~
Esp since the tips are angled upwards...
Cars following you at night will see two shiny tips with a lovely silver resonator nestled nicely between them...
hrmm...
Do i make you horny baby? Do I? Do I?

The thing shouldn't sound any different just because you redlined the car three times. Maybe a year later it might sound different but not five minutes later.
Did any of you who have responded to this thread so far even read what str8 6 wrote or what question he asked?
What are you guys smoking? Exhaust?
If it truly sounded that different after you rapped it out, you better check gaskets or something.

He said the difference was between when he first started it up, and then later in the drive. Both low RPM range, and sounded different.

Something must have happened when you first rapped it out, maybe some packaging material or tennis balls were stuffed in there the first time.
