Default Whats wrong with my VTEC?

My oil level is fine and I always wait for my engine to warm up before ever using VTEC. Plus, my clutch just got replaced because it was slipping bad. But why doesn't my VTEC feel as strong as it should be? Also, it sometimes kicks in at 7K and not always 6K! Why is that? Could I have a bad vtec solenoid? My AP1 is 7 years old now, but with only 56K miles, so do some things require changing out for me soon? What else contributes to vtec?

VTEC engagement point depends on load (rpm, throttle position. MAP). Odds are the VTEC solenoid is OK. Check your oil level and spark plugs.

Most likely the ECU has just learned that you have been babying it. Reset ECU and drive it hard for a while to re-teach it how to rev.

I'm curious...... is that because a clogged air filter would cause the MAP sensor to read a too low intake manifold pressure?

Id say your Vtec selinoid is cloged with sludge, Id pull it off- Carefully remove the Seal/Gasket. Also remove the screen, Spray it out with brake cleaner and let it evaporate. Re-assemble then out it back on. Also Check your oil. Reset your Ecu while doing so...
