Default Wheel Bearing

Alright guys I have been dealing with this for a long time now..Since Feb 06..

In March I got my wheel bearing fixed...noise gone
500km later..noise back...take it back to the shop they tighten it...noise gone..

500km later..noise back...tighten again...noise back..tighten again..

Finally noise back...so I bought a new axle nut as we figured maybe the thread was done on that...new axle nut on..noise gone...and suprise.now its back..

What would make it keep loosening up?? it has been tighten to 120 ft/lbs each time...

120ft/lb or 220ft/lb? 220ft/lb is correct.

If all they're doing is tightening it, then they're not fixing it.

Did the ever replace the hub and bearing?

Sorry it was 220 ft/lbs.

The bearing was replaced..I don't believe the hub was-after the bearing was taken out it looked 'messed up'...so they put a new one in...then then noise went away..since then it has been coming back and has been getting fixed by tightening and lasting abour 500kms before the noise comes back...

I'd get both the hub and bearing replaced together. Sounds like the hub's damaged which, apparently is common if you wait too long on the wheel bearing job. That whole setup is supposed to be so tight, it needs to be pressed apart and pressed together again. It sounds like the hub's damaged so, there's slop in there that works loose after 500 kms.

Last wheel bearings I did, I replace both hubs because there was clear damage on the hub where the bearing sits.

When they retightened it they also locked the nut right?
Locking is done to hammer the rim of the nut into the gap in the thread.

By the sounds of it the hub is damaged..
If the bearing is damaged/distroyed it would of affected the hub aswell
