Tired google, et.c but can't find anything good here. I have the head off and am looking at the gasket, its seperated but how else do I know if it was blown? Putting a new one on either way but want to know if there is anything else to look for here, let me know

It's really hard to "see" a blown head gasket, unless it is really bad and obvious. That is really a "head bolted on" diagnoses, BUT...
Hopefully, you haven't cleaned the head, or the block surface yet??? If not, you can look for black carbon spots escaping past the cylinder chamber and past the main head gasket crush ring. This may not be real obvious, but it is easier to see on the head/block surfaces first, then looking at the gasket to confirm. Hope this helps.
