Default Where to buy Syncromesh online

Well i was doing a rear-diff and tranny change this weekend, and found the Mobile1 synthetic 75-90w gear oil but couldn't find any Syncromesh. Pep-boys(here in the south) said they carried Syncromesh but they didn't have any in stock (wtf?) neither did Autozone carry any syncromesh. Where do you guys get yours? i hear that its better than the Honda MTF but can't find it in a store, can you guys recommend a place online where i can buy the stuff?

The GM Part number is #12377916 (among others). Make sure you get Friction Modified.

Is syncromesh better then Mobile 75W-90.... Is the friction Modified also rated GL5 or GL6? I was planning on chaninging my fluids this coming weekend at my first mod day..... Do the tranny and the diff take the same fluid or do i need a different weight for the tranny?

DO NOT confuse tranny fluid with rear diff fluid on this car. You will be very sorry.
Diff fluid is a GL-5 fluid. You can use a multigrade oil like the Mobil 1 75W90 or a single weight oil like the LE 607 if you don't drive the car in winter extreme temps.
Tranny fluid is more like engine oil with special additives. Generally, Manual Transmission Fluid is not labelled with a weight.

Xviper thank you forhelping to clear this up but i am still a little confused.

What i need to get for fluids changes:

Diff- Mobile 75w-90..... I will be driving my car in the winter, but temps shouldnt be much colder then just below freezing on worst days. Is this ok?

Tranny fluid- Is the syncromesh the tranny fluid? Is this better then the oem honda fluid? Also what do i look for when buying a tranny fluid? Is syncromesh the best fluid for me to change over to? And i can get it a Chevy Parts Counter? I have been dedicated mobil user for 8 years now, is there a mobile alternative and which is better?

In the FAQs i found stuuf about Mobile 75w90 and it saying it should be GL-5 couldnt find anything about tranny fluid.

Sorry for thread jacking......

Zeemz- There are many of us in your area that use the products Harry already outlined. Buy them from Hardtopguy. I usually have extras stocked at my house, but I sold 3 sets of fluids just recently.

LE607 for the diff (1 qt)
GM(or ACDelco) Synchromesh friction modified for the tranny (2 qts)

And yes, these are better.

You might be OK to use the LE 607 as it doesn't get that cold for you. The LE is very thick, so extreme cold use is not a good idea. That's why I use the M1.

The Syncromesh "friction modified" can be found where Harry said or you can generally find it at GM dealers what sell Cadillac. As for "better", that's up to the owner to decide. The vast majority of S2000s are running around with Honda MTF and are fine. Some who use the GM stuff say it is great, while others have noted that it is short lived.
Manual Tranny Fluid has no "GL" rating. Just make sure it's rated for a manual transmission.
In the "FAQs" at the top of Technical, you will find DIY threads on how to do fluid changes on both the tranny and rear diff.
