Thumbs up Where to get factory paint

Was anyone able to match the paint color for the 04 Rio from the paint code/ Where did you get it?
The paint code Y-65P returned New Indy Yellow Pearl at the local paint store.
I thought this was the paint on the new 05 NSX

When the Mugen SS spoiler was painted with the paint from the paint store it turned out a brighter yellow than the stock color.

The local dealerships will not sell me the exact factory paint.
They previously painted the entire side of the car.
Someone keyed it from the headlight to the taillights 2 days before I picked it up. You can not even tell they painted it. They said that they did not even need to blend because the paint was so new only 35mi on the car when i picked it up.

Told the dealership to take 4K off the top or they can sell it to someone else.
Well they took of the 4 grand off with out hesitation.
Should have asked for them to take off more.

paint code is a paint code. Honda changes the colors name sometimes with different model vehicles. But a paint code is standard.

We can in CA.

I had to as I had an issue with matching paint. Turns out that the a paint color can vary from each of Honda's factories. I know ours were all built in Tochigi pre-04. Unfortunately the person who ordered the paint did not, and there were multiple cross references for the offical Honda paint code.

Try here: http://www.nmbpaint.com/product.htm

I have a March build '04 Rio, their touch up was perfect.

IF boston deuce's advice doesn't pan out, try a NAPA store. Ask for TEC/Base, formula # 67850. If they make paint, it will be in their system. I know, I just looked it up!

I just called hartopguy.com at his dealership to see if he is able to sell/ship large volumes (1gal of each part) of the factory paint out the door. He was not there but left a message.

I am hoping he is able to do this.
He might be even able to this offer the factory colors on his website.

Thumbs up

What formula number did you use for the DuPont paint.

I have been on the phone with the for the past 1 hr trying to track down the color and they keep coming up with Solar yellow or Indy race yellow.
The Indy race yellow is what is on the NSX not the S2000

The Solar yellow has the pearl in the base coat and the Indy has the pearl in a separate steep I am totally confused .

From watching the dealership previously painting the car the paint should go base color hen pearl then clear. (tri stage)

These are the current formula numbers that DuPoint came up
I guess I will just try them on a test piece and see how they turns out unless some one recognizes any of theses for the S2000
743104 Solar yellow (base yellow with pearl then clear)
602377 Spa Yellow NSZ tri stage (yellow then pearl then clear)
602373 Belgium formula for the Spa

Do any of theses formulas look familiar.

Does thespa for the NSX happen to have a pearl in it.

Solar is fine, Rio yellow is called Solar Yellow up here in Canada. Same paint code, same colour!
