Default Whirring sounds

When I turn the wheel at low speeds and a whirring sound comes from the rear wheels.
NO IDEA what it is! The car only has 1000 miles on it!

Any ideas?

It most likely IS the (Torsen LSD part of the) diff and up to a point it IS normal to make some "noise" at tight low speed turns.
Noises are hard to diagnose by typed words.
If you dont trust it have a Honda tech listen to it.

IMO you are ok.

have been in plenty of s2k's with this sound. guess it has to do with one wheel turning faster than the other...everything is fine

I took it to the dealership and they said it was the diff. New one on its way! They said the noise is NOT normal and the 06 diffs are different than the older ones.

I was also told that the 07 will be the last year of the S2 and it will be replaced by a prelude type of car.

Yes, they have been saying that for 6 years now.

How are they different? I didn't think anything changed. What's going to happen when the new one comes and it makes the same noise? I have this funny feeling your dealer doesn't have a clue what a normal Torsen LSD sounds like in a tight turn. And when the noise persists with the new diff, how will you feel about them telling you that the '07 is the last year?

It's difficult for anyone to think anything. It's nearly impossible for you to convey what you mean by "whirring". We don't know the pitch, the tone, the volume or the rhythm of this sound.
