Default White smoke

Need a little help here.

Lately, I've started noticing white smoking from my exhaust at start-up. At first, I noticed smoking when I had my headerback exhaust, but I thought it was just smoke from having no cat. I would notice that sometimes at full stops, smoke would come out from the exhaust. I put the stock exhaust back on and everything seemed normal until recently where I noticed smoke at start-up. Also, my MPG's have gone down quite noticably. I don't think the smoke is due to cold weather but i'm not sure, since it really hasnt been cold enough in so cal.

I read somewhere that this could be valve seals? Would that explain the drop in MPG and smoke?

Is this an expensive fix?

TIA for any help.

white= coolant
blue= oil
black= fuel
check your oil cap for mayonaise
and your radiator for oil on the top of the coolant.

but mayonnaise on the oil cap could just be moisture in the oil system

water in the oil means blown head gasket.

^ we know. Generally its a headgasket. It could be worse ie. head or block is cracked. We won't get into any of that discussion here.

The white smoke upon startup could just be condensation burning off from the vehicle sitting over night and it getting some water in the exhaust system, nothing to worry about there. Does the smoke have any color or smell??

^ it's just white, and i guess it smells bad, but i don't really know what burnt coolant smells like, but there was a very small coolant spill when i installed the CAI (maybe a few drops).

Coolant will smell "sweet" when burnt and when just laying in a pool.

hmm, i don't think it smelled sweet, but it was definitely white smoke. it wasn't blue, and i'm pretty sure it wasn't black, but it did smell like fuel. i guess i'll just keep an eye on it.
