Why are our alternators so weak?

i don't think you can buy a remanned alternator for s2k's yet. have to buy new

So, in well over 2 years, we have the second reported case of this failure in this thread. I think we can probably say that these 2 (and maybe a few unreported cases) out of the many 10's of 1000's of S2000s in the world today, is not a bad record. (Although it still sucks to have one of them. )

Don't assume that's the case, the alternator could be the same as something common so you may well be able to get a remanufactured one almost anywhere. I know Bosch rebuilds over here are sold CHEAP and with a 5 year warranty. Good luck!

Have you already replaced your clutch? Maybe they left the bolts out when they put it all back together.

I too think it was likely a motor mount issue.

Why would you suspect a motor mount issue if they already determined that one of the alternator bolts was missing?

I didn't see the ref to the missing bolt, nor why anyone continued to post after that was discovered.
