Why is so hard to get an OEM oil filter?

If it's not much trouble some LE 607 would be great too

w00w~ I'm sure you've been asked this many times, but have you done the nurburghring? It sounds like a dream come true.

I've been here since December of 2001 and probably won't leave untill 2010 or so.

I don't pay the German gas prices, the price we (service members / DoD employees) pay is a average of the U.S. prices :-p
Yay for Esso! Do you have the Esso tiger map book too?

Some of us like to share the cost of the "Care package". I am one of those who would like to contribute to the "Care package". As more people are reading this thread, they will likely joining the "Appreciation Club".

Blitzkrieg,
What else do you need for your S and it is hard to find in Germany ? Do you need air filter ? If INDYMAC can get those things for you in the same "Care package" would be best.
Thanks for serving.

INDYMAC,
Please PM your Paypal acount, I will send a small contribution. If you don't have Paypal account, address would be needed to mail a check.

I mailed 2 PCX oil filters to Blitzkrieg yesterday. While packing the LE 607 I had second thoughts though. I was not 100% convinced that it wouldn't spring a leak during the air travel phase from NY to Germany, so I pulled it out of the package. Sorry Blitzkrieg, but I didn't want to ruin any of the other care packages onboard the plane. Enjoy the filters!

No contribution neccessary. The cost to ship any care package to an FPO or APO address is not that much. In Blitzkrieg's case, it will go via USPS to NY, then to Germany via Mil Air. I recommend that you PM Blitzkrieg to see if there is anything else he needs if you want to participate. I'm sure there are many other soldiers, sailors, airman and Marines that need some assistance while assigned to overseas duty too. Feel free to excercise your generosity!

Holy crap. A response like this was totally unexpected. I've done maybe 6 laps around the Nuerburgring Nordschleife but I will never do it with the S. The Nordschleife is extremely narrow and on any nice day gets really crowded. I remember one lap where there were like 2 fallen motorcyclists and a car that slammed into the wall :-( Alot of people get hurt up there. Problem is, anyone with 15 euro can go do a lap. My favorite track is Hockenheimring wich just happens to be about 20 minutes down the road from where I live. HHR is much more modern and safer.

I appreciate all of the generosity. I don't really need anything else. It's usually not very difficult to find stuff online.

Now that I think about it, oil might be illegal to mail anyway. It's not a problem though. Thanks again!

I drove past HHR on the way to Stutgart, but didn't stop. Went to the Ring for a day though, didn't drive on track though, manfacturers were testing that day
