Will this casue oil consumption?
Hey guys, I was just reading thru some things and I just wanted to know if this might casue oil consumption....My car has a 3degree angle valve job, would this casue it?
Also the previous owner prior rebuild took the pistons and got them milles 2/1000 to reduce hotspots that are found on alot of s2000 pistons after a few thousand miles...could this casue more oil consumption?
Or is it just more than likely what yall stated before and said that it is becasue he broke the motor in with synthetic? the motor only has 2100 miles and its only seen mobil 1 synthetic, and I need to go to dino right?
Thanks in advance!

Read all about it here:

IMO that has nothing to do with oil consumption, because the engine oil doesn't flow into the cylinders
The valve stem seals do need to be in good shape.
Did they put new ones in as well?

Again: it has nothing to do with oil consumption.
Just a slightly lowered compression (in theory)

You mentioned they used the "old" pistons, I don't know if you can put new FRM cylinder walls in (I don't think so).
Did they use new piston rings?
Swithching from syn to dino may (MAY!) slow down oil consumption.
In your case... I wouldn't count on it too much.
Its a fact that some S2000's will use oil, no matter what oil you use.
Keep your eye on the oil level and add when needed.
It's my personal experience that Krank Vents (to create a "vacuum" in the crank case and keep it - makes piston rings seal better) slow down oil consumption too.
no they put new everything in it...and yes i know oil dosent go thru the cylinder lol. The pistons, rods, rings and valve stem seals were all replaced....everything was in fact besides the crank and cams
