I guess you will need to do the VTEC Rocker Arm test, to rule out reassembly issues. Good luck!

Well did a pressure test at the pressure sensor. Not sure if Gauge was reading correctly but pressure was basically 0. Not sure if it needs to be driven to get the correct oil pressure since I don’t understand exactly as how the vtec pressure switch works. It goes into the shop Monday for inspection. Any opinions of the pressure would be great. Thanks guys

Wel the car is still at the shop. They have had it since Monday evening. I have not heard from them. Which one makes me slightly happy that it wasn’t something dumb such as a sensor or bad connector. Waiting for the call to see what the issue is. Also to note when we reved it at the shop in neutral it would go past 6k. So the issue only seems to be underload which is odd.

Vtec won't engage while in neutral...it could still be a vtec system issue

Correct I just found it odd that it only does it under load. I never tried free reving it to see if it would go past 6k.

Okay so according to the shop it’s either the manifold or turbo causing a restriction. They took the turbo off and put a regular manifold. Came right back to life. The manifold is just a regular log cast iron manifold. Turbo is a comp turbo 63mm turbo. Never smoked, spun freely, no play. Any ideas what would be causing this restriction?

Does the car have a catalytic converter? I've worked on a supra that was hitting a brick wall around 4500rpms...ended up being a clogged/melted converter
