Default will these rims fit??

i am considering replacing the stock rims with enkei model cd9r rims. the discount tire site states "16X7 5-100/14 40S" will fit the 01 s2000. the 40S is the offset. i believe this is a +40 offset. OEM Honda info. from our site states the fronts are 16X6.5's with a minimum of "+50mm" for offset and the rears are 16X7.5's with a minimum of "+65mm" for offset.

many questions;will a 7 inch wide rim work on the front with stock tires? will a "40S" offset work? regarding the back; will a "40S" offset work? i intend to install rm racing coils which lowers the car appx. 1.5 inches; will all of this work?

i don't want to ask discount tire (yet) but believe someone out there knows.

many thanks

bruce jarrard,

A 16x7.5 with +40mm will not work bud...
unless you want your tires to stick out like crazy.

A 16x7 with +40mm all around with stock tires will actually work, but I don't recommend it. It sticks out just enough where if you lowered the car or had a hefty passenger...it will rub.

I actually saw this guy at the Texas World Speedway with 16x7 +40mm wheels on all four corners with 205/50/16 and 225/50/16 032R's.

Also our bolt pattern is not 5-100. It is 5-114.3.

bruce jarrard,

Here is a cheap track setup that I saw this one guy using at the Texas World Speedway...

They are $120 a piece at discount tire...in fact they are made by discount tire. Again, I don't recommend using this wheel if you are going to lower the car. The guy at the Texas World Speedway was doing great with them though. He had 205/55/16 and 225/50/16 A032R's...which fit fine. I wouldn't try 245/45/16 with these wheels...

bruce jarrard,

I actually have a picture of the car with the rage race 10 wheels on the S2000. It's the (only) white S2000 to the right of mine...

The Rage Race 5.0 also have the same specifications. They are a bit lighter than the rage race 10's. Rage race 5.0 is ~14 pounds...Rage race 10's are ~ 15 pounds.

Phantom,

I've gathered the following info from other threads. Are the suggested offsets correct?
