wind noise at high speeds

Default wind noise at high speeds

i have a model 2000 and it seems that at highway speeds i can hear the air going quite loudly through the top end of my roof.... did my rubber get too compressed???

any fixes for this??

Try switching the side of your strikers.. if that doesnt work, get a set of hardtop strikers from hardtopguy.com

I had the same issueabout 60MPH, but switching the sides of the strikers worked for me.

the side of the strikers????? u mean using the left one for the right???? but wont the buttons be on the wrong side

the strikes are the metal thing that it latches onto.. you have to take off the plastic trim around the windshield on the inside. The strikers are held in by 2 phillips head screws each

replace the strikers. also, it's a convertible. get used to lots of wind noises.

well yes i know its a convertible but it used to be quiet............................................. ......


6 years ago... rattle free

now i got about three annoying rattles

not bad for a 2000 i think

This is what is very confusing. They're just called the "strikers" in the windshield frame.

Darren, just get the heavy duty hardtop strikers. You've got an '00 car. It's probably time anyway. Oh, and treat your windshield weather seal with silicone grease so they're more supple.

mmm supple....

well i just switched the side of the strikers and can already tell my roof sits tighter... ill try it on the way home from work today

the other guy had the cheap fix......
ill hold out till i pay for the heavy duty HT strikers hehehe
