Hard to say without hearing the noise or a better description. My starter started going and the pinion wouldn't retract quickly/properly and made what I might describe as a winding noise. Its a possibility

I held the starter an extra 2 seconds To get a good recording of the winding sound.

The starter needs to be adjusted. Take it back to the place that put the clutch in and tell them to add/take away the shims.

I was the installer that did the actual clutch work. Fyi the clutch had to be changed twice due to a bad f1racing junk the pressure plate fractured in 3 place with not even 2 miles up the road with light driving. So the car was towed back and we order the customer bought a compition clutch stage 4. Starter installed back in and torque'd to spec. Note it's still the original flywheel just resurfaced nothing else has changed.

I personally think the starters on it's way out.

Shims on a Honda starter? Sorry but this isn't a v8. I've built Honda for over 8years and never seen a Honda starter have or need shim's

It's not disengaging. The starter may be damaged.
