Default WindShield replacement.

Has anyone ever replaced their windshield?? Mine cracked through the center because of the damn squirells and rodents in my area. One went airborne onto by car and cracked the windshield. Cost/labor.... availability?

You should be able to get one for $375-$400 installed. Many places will quote you a list price of $1100, don't believe it. In major cities the installer should be able to get one next day at worst.

Make sure to tell them up front you will make them re-do it if they booger up the windshield trim rubber. When I had mine done I didn't think about it since the rubber slips on the windshield before they install it, but I ended up with a dozen little tears/gouges in the rubber anyway.

Also, test the WW to make sure they work right. They have to remove the WW arms and if they don't put tham back exactly like before they won't sweep the glass properly.

Also make sure the rear view mirror is attached tightly. Mine fell off 10 miles down the road.

It should be a painless process unless you get a moron installer like I did.

Make sure they cover the ac blow vents, when I had mine replaced they dropped something in there ? A lil pebble or something not sure. Anyways it rolled around left to right left to right until I couldnt take it anymore took it to honda they pulled apart my dash and everything. In the end Honda Warranty went through and saved me 900 in labor fees plus I got some nice scratches on interior panels wooHOOO!!. I WIN !!

I had mine replaced... but I never would have bothered if insurance hadn't covered most of it (mine was just pitted rather badly). I think I paid $150, and the guys came to me.

Mine was replaced $0 comprehensive.

Here is how the bill to the insurance company broke down:

FW02161GTNN Windshield, Solar Controlled Pilkington $353.78

WFS_F2161_OE Moulding, Reveal $90.31

Adhesive, Urethane 1.5 $20

I'll add this...the stock windshield is VERY prone to chipping and sandblasting. A company called, something like, P&G, makes a better glass.
