Default Winter storage

I read the winter storage sticky - good stuff. But it's not feasible to roll my S2K back & forth to prevent the tire flat spots. So my question is, is it OK to place the car up on jack stands for storage? Is this harmful to suspension? If this has been covered - my bad -

Well while I have never stored a car for any period of time my suggestion would be to leave the car jacked up but from points that would have the suspension loaded. But being how anal I can be I would also remove the wheels and brake pads to avoid "lot rot" on the rotors from the brake pads.

Lets have some other people chime in to see what they say.

I left my car on jack stands for 5 months last yea with no problems. I had my jacks under the sideskirts on the OEM lift points.

it can be done, although if you are only worried about flat spots in the tires, just go and get some thick foam padding and then 2 inch thick styrafoam put the foam padding on top of the styrafoam and then lower the car onto it. It is what I do each year and i have not had any trouble with flat spots.

You can also jack up the tires to the max PSI allowed to prevent spots. My friend does this with his BMW. Just remember to lower it in the spring before the first ride or it might be a tad stiff.

I've been storing bikes and cars that way since 1978. If you do get a flat spot, it'll go away in a couple of days of driving.

Don't worry, drive happy!
