Default Wipers Stopped Working ?!?!

Today, moments after washing my car (2000 AP1 S2k), I hit the wipers to clear the windshield twice. On the 3rd go, they went up and got stuck in the upright position. I pulled off to the side of the road to manually bring them back to their normal position. I checked my fuse, it's fine. Replaced it with a spare fuse just to be sure, still nothing. I can hear the wiper motor making noise when I flick the wiper switch, but nothing happens. I'm a little lost... Do I need a new wiper motor if it's making noise?

Thank you

Either the wiper motor is dead, or the linkage came apart under the cowl. I've got a spare motor if you need one. I would turn on the wipers and look through the plastic cowl cover with a flashlight to see if you can see any parts moving.
