Default To worry or not to worry?

I got my S2K from the body shop. I don't recall weather I had a check engine light with the key in ON position. Engine not running.

I click over to ON position and before hitting START button see that check engine light is on with the oil light and battery. Normal right?

Well it stays on for 22 Seconds, after which caught my eye... It blinks five times and shuts off?

So am I crazy and didn't notice it before or that is totally normal?'

EDIT: No check engine light while the car is running tho.

Are you sure its the check engine light? If it blinks 5 times sounds more like the "Maint Req" light.

The Maintenance Required light comes on based on mileage and can easily be reset.

To reset the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light:
- Have key inserted in ignition but in the OFF or LOCKED position.
- Push and hold the trip reset button on the right bottom corner of your gauge clutster.
- Turn key to full ON position and continue holding the button till the light goes off.

Most Definitely Check Engine Light.

If some one could just turn the key to ON position and let me know if their check engine light stays on for 22 seconds and then flashes 5 times and goes away. I start the car, no check engine light at all.

I would highly appreciate the help. Thanks

I'd have to check my service manual, but I thought the CEL flashes when there is a problem with the ABS system. There is a specific issue that it points to, but I'd have to reference the manual to be sure.

Wouldn't the abs light stay on or flash if there was an issue with ABS.
