Default Is it worth rebuilding?

hey guys, i'm new to this forum but not new to the S2000 platform. I recently did an engine swap on my buddy's ap2 after he spun a bearing. After the ordeal was done he told me i could have the old engine. i pulled it apart and the only parts it needs are new rod and crank bearings and a cylinder 2 rod. and possibly needs the crank machined. so the question i want to know, is it worth my time and money to rebuild it? if i rebuild it i'm just going to turn around and sell it. Or would the parts and time outweigh how much i could sell it for? would it just make more sense for me to part the engine and sell the parts?

It would be better to sell it as is. The cost of the OEM parts is high and add the labor to it, you would be lucky to break even on the deal. It you sold it as it, someone would be wlling to buy it. There is not alot of 2.2 blocks that have sold as cores.

I am going through the same ordeal. If you plan on selling it then YES do sell it as is or part it out. I spun a bearing and it is going to cost me 1400 to build it and that is with some minor headwork. I am doing almost all the labor as well.

I suggest you part it out. But if you want to part it out on here you'll need to be a member.

Oh, and there is a For Sale forum for this sort of thing once you become a member.
