Default Would you like a SHAKE with that?

As some of you know I've had a problem for some time with the S shuddering and shaking under load. When I accelerate in a high gear the car shakes. And it's been getting worse. On my Eastern Creek videos you could hear it as the microphone chattered on the stereo door during the hard right hand turn (the NSX incident one).

I'd been to my Honda dealer twice about the shakes before and they suggested it was a problem with my NGK spark plugs or a tuning issue. I then did a search on S2ki and found this thread.

I'd always thought it was a drive train issue but had nothing solid until I read that thread. I printed it out and took it to my dealer. The mechanic said no problem, they'll pull it apart and have a look. Guess what! It's stuffed!

Have a look at this photo from the thread.

Not only did that thread help me get this problem fixed, but it also help Honda not waste time trying to find the problem.

They are getting the part from Melbourne and it'll be back together by the end of the week.

ALL UNDER WARRANTY!!

So I'm finally glad I bought the extended warranty (even though I reported it before the original warranty expired. Just saves the argument).

I'm so happy I'm shaking. Bit ironic really!

that is the CJ joint housing. I jjst had mine replaced under warranty and they replaced both. tell you dealer to do both. don't have it swapped with the other side. mine was the passenger side CV Joint instead of the drivers side.

My car is out of warranty ......

Will they still do it? Is it a re-call? Any one know how much this will cost without warranty?

Thanx!

I wouldn't count on a goodwill repair.
