PCX filter is very recent filter that Honda recommended for S2000, within the last 2 years or so. The first few years, 2000-2002, the PLM filter was used on all Honda, S2000 included
WRONG!! the POH was the filter first used on the s2000 - the PLM then came along for all other hondas exept the s2000, which is where the PCX comes in.

PLM is the wrong filter

Hey Jay,

03_AP1 said that PLM is the wrong filter for S2000. You should change your PLM filter to PCX as soon as you have time. Your engine may explosed if you drive it few more miles. J/K

i don't give a sh*t what you do.....I'm just trying to dispell the wrong info being passed to fellow owners.

Bottom line - PCX - correct part - PLM - wrong part - do what you want.

:agreed:

I did not remember the old part number, but 03_AP1 and slalom44 are right. The PLM is the wrong filter and the dealer should have known better.

When Honda changed from their old filters (POH and xxx) to the PLM and PCX, they set out a TSB on the filters. That TSB told all the dealers to use only the PCX filter on the S2000.

Also it is not that hard to change just the filter. It just makes a mess and you lose about 1/2 qt.

Has anyone heard of the 15400 PLC 004 honda filter. I picked this up today at a local honda dealer. they said that this has superseded the PCX filter. Is this true?

Comments / sugguestions please.

The 15400 PLC 004 filter is made by Hamp, and is considered a genuine Honda replacement for the PLM filter, not the PCX filter. It will fit, but it is a smaller filter and won't have the filter media that the PCX filter has.

That is what I want to know? I already did the change, It would be a real pain in the a__ to change just the filter.
If the oil is settled, you just unscrew the filter, and hardly any oil will come out. Just put the new one on, and top off the oil if you even need to. It would take you 5 minutes.
