Just curious if you've had the valve cover off and put it back on using the old gasket?

Interesting. Mine looks kinda like that only on top of the valve cover, like around the spark plug cover. Would that be the same thing? I haven't had the valve cover off at all.

It's been like that for a while; I always just thought the valve cover was stained when someone spilled some oil on it previously. Car seems to run fine.

Is it originating from the grey loom wire area that leads into the spark plug cover? It seems to graduate up to that but I can't see for sure from the pictures.

If it's not coming from the spark plug cover area then it's probably just the valve cover gasket leaking.

It is ethier the valve cover/gasket or your VTEC solenoid is loose. Remember there is pressure in the VTEC solenoid of 20-80 psi or so with an o-ring type seal. If that was leaking while you were driving it would run down the side of the valve cover like that.

The oil under the valve cover is not under pressure.

i've not had the valve cover off ever...and a few months back i retorqued the spark plugs so i dont think they are the problem. after the game ill go out and check under the sparkplug cover.

the car runs fine so i wouldnt think anything is loose..but then again im certainly not a mechanic. as for the valve gasket...if its shot, i think honda should replace that AND my valve cover...i dont want a stained cover because their gasket is shoddy... what do yall think about the likelyhood of getting that replaced under warrantee too?

I agree, leaky valve cover gasket. [No big deal.] Also, you need to clean your engine!

As you have not messed with the valve cover and the surrounding areas are clean.....my guess is that you have some porosity in the cover. The oil is leakingfrom the inside out. This is supported by the pattern of the leakage. Take it to a dealer and suggest you may have a porous cover.
