Default yellow box setting

I installed 4.57r + the yellow box on MY05 The car is a lot of fun to drive now ... but anyways....

I'm still running stock rims and tires. Accoring to calculations I should be off by about 11.46%. Before dialing the correction factor on the yellow box, just to double check, I had a police car check my speed and it turned out that I was off by 6mph; I was going 34-35mph and the radar was showing 28-29mph, which would mean that my speedo is off by about 21.00%. Is this correct? Isn't it kind high I also drove next to my brother and at his 47mph I was at 50mph, 3mph difference, which would mean I'm off by about 6.50% (and from the research i've done that's what most people with 4.57 and stock tires set their yb at) I am really confused

Am I being paranoid about the +20.00% or is this correct? Which correction factor should I stick with? Should I do the highway mile markers calibration

What do you guys think?

Thx

You need to do a mile marker calibration. If you have aftermarket rims that are a different diameter than stock, this could affect it. Also we dont know how much your speedo was off/on before you did the gearset. Same with your bro's car.

Do the mile marker calibration and that's gonna be your best bet.

I personally used a GPS and a long trip. I did the math serveral times during the trip and always came up with the same figures.

You are welcome, anytime

actually yes. depending on the angle at which he clocks you, this affects the readout of the laser gun.

i've given you the advice you were looking for. you dont need any more input from me.

Um, you did what I did. I had switch 1 in the wrong position, so it was almost doubling the incorrect reading. Move the number 1 switch to the other setting and try again.
