Default 13 MPG on the Track!

Hi folks,

Finally did some computations with my gas receipts.

Sunday on the track (Fall Colors), I got about 16 MPG. Monday, more like 13.

I just found this interesting. I guess it's not surprising, but seeing that I've never been below 20 MPG, it's rather an eye opener. Usually, I average 24 or so (more like 28 on the highway).

Anyone else measure their mileage at the track? Is this common?

That's significantly better than what I get - it's always been 9 mpg on the track for me.

Wow!!!! Amazing. OK, I'm not concerned now. Thanks, guys.

Sideways, Elistan, I presume you dudes are really thrashing on the car while doing track time... Do you average over 20 on the road?

On the Dragon (hwy129) I was only getting about 4 mpg. Running 1st and 2nd most of the time. Would hit 3rd for only a brief time, then back to 2nd or 1st.

4?!?!?!?! Wow! That sounds really low to me, for any road driving. What do you average under normal circumstances, Fred?

With Hard driving ( most shifts at or near red line ) 20.5 to 21.5 mpg. Highway drivin, about 25.5 mpg.

Drove the Dragon in VETC 98% of the run and steered with my right foot most of the time. Hardly used the brakes at all. Let the engine do most of the Braking. The car held up ten times better than I though she would. WoW What a Car

Started the Dragon with 9/32 on my new SO2s. they had only 5/32 after the Weekend. My tire cost was much higher than fuel cost. Great Road
