Extenuating circumstances re: Recession?

Permanent trend that will continue?

Will roadsters and sports cars be saved from this trend, or affected even more

Agree with the comment about young people's attitude about cars (like our kids or grandkids ) ?

For the first time since WWII, the U.S. has fewer cars
The nation's car population dropped in 2009 by 2 percent, according to a new report by the Earth Policy Institute in Washington, D.C. It is said to be the first time since World War II that the U.S. saw a decrease in the number of cars on the roads. Fourteen million cars were ditched last year, and 10 million new cars were sold. The major reason for the decrease is the recession, but the American auto-buying market is said to be saturated, and young people are less interested in cars than are older generations. There are about 250 million cars nationwide, and if the decline continues apace, there could be 10 percent fewer cars by 2020....
