Still if you have a good dealer, all color combos are available, as of today. I called mine and asked, and was promptly offered #0055, which I *think* is a GPW - wasn't paying that much attention since I really am not in the market, and just wanted to find availability.

All you need is a dealer who is willing to order one in, or trade for one, and you can get what you want. I do expect this will change in the coming months.

I would have gotten an '08 GPW had I not lucked into the AP1. That was the plan. Now, I'm glad I have the AP1, both $$$ wise, and car-wise! I've always liked GPW, and rock chips don't show nearly as badly on it as they do on Laguna or even Spa.

But alternating between the Ap1 and Ap2 feels like two different cars, rather than two of the same car in different colors, if that makes any sense.

Dave, I didn't think my '01 and '05 were that much different. The '01 had a rougher ride and was more raw, but it wasn't all that different. The hardest thing to get used to was shifting earlier in the '05.

Well, you are not as fat as I, Patricia There is a WORLD of difference in seating in the two. At least 1"

The AP1 steering is MUCH tighter, imo. And I shift more in the AP1.
And 9k is LOUDER than 8k. And I don't have XM in the AP1!!

As one of our beloved Vintage members would state if this were Spring Fling 04:

"You have a radio in your S?"

Anyone have any idea who I maybe referring too?

Yeah, I guess I've forgotten some stuff. I do remember the clutch feels like butter in the '05. When Jerry (Spokes Man) drove my '05 to my new house for me when I moved, he said he thought my clutch was stiffer than his '06. Oh, and I do recall the '05 seat pinching my hips when it was new.

When I'm finally done with my S, I will move on to a different make and model. Life is short and I'm vintage. If I can fit in two or three more toys before I have to turn in my lisence, they will each be a new and different experience.

dlq04, Didn't Honda move production of the S2000 out of that factory?
Following an announcement in 2003, Honda transferred production from the small Takanezawa Factory and moved the entire facility to Suzuka Factory in May 2004. Honda said this was done to integrate production, with the engine assembly to the completed vehicle being performed in one location. However, insiders say is was also due in part to the lack of interest in the dated NSX which ceased production at the end of 2005 and necessary to free up space at Tochigi to produce more compact, alternative-fuel vehicles.
