I respect that it excites you and others but I get a better buzz from a bourbon (just say'n). Sorry I can't relate but still in a way I can, IF its like those who do not get driving through a corner at the limit or ......

I'm very interested in the filters, George. My thought has been that I just want to be there when day light turns to night time. I know people are concerned about the cloud cover but that isn't going to change the full sun to night experience. Maybe I should change my hope to one of no clouds and bring my binoculars with filters? I believe totality is around 1:20 pm where I'll be. The heat is my biggest concern. I hate being hot and the humidity will most likely be nasty, too. I think I'll still be thrilled in the long run. I've invited my daughter to join me. I'll know soon if she can fly out from Sacramento.

Yeah, different strokes... I like a good buzz with friends and remember them as best times in my life, such as one particular Tomcatt Run in Marietta when I had a blast with some of the youngn's and a 2005 S2000 meet in Lake George and a different meet also in 2005 in Watkins Glen. Those were F U N. This is a more personal soulful or spiritual experience I want. I love Mother Earth, and for real, hug trees on occasion. Dave, you have a wonderful relationship with Donna that is something special. Different needs for different people with different lives. It's all good!

This is what you want Patty:

Full Aperture (Solarlite) – Thousand Oaks Optical

I have eight Thousand Oaks Optical solar filters, including the new 95 mm filter for my new zoom lens. They work great. Go to their home page for the phone number.

You should watch the whole sequence, Patty, from first contact (start of partial eclipse) to second contact (start of totality) to third contact (end of totality) to fourth contact (end of eclipse). Watching the partial eclipse grow is very interesting. Some people give up before fourth contact.

Our district is buying 3000 glasses for students in town and we are hosting people on our campuses if they want to camp the night before. We are on the edge of totality and will bet abut 25 seconds I think.
