Where is Legal Bill when we need the absolute facts?

Up heah in the state O maine if you turn the AC down means its too cold inside. So the vote from this side means raise the temp. But most people I bet are not thinking raise the temp they are just thinking dont make it so cold same diff but different chains of thought. I wonder if it will even get hot enough to bother installing the AC this year have not put it in in 3 years running now. Dont get me wrong it does hit 100+ here but never for long enough to warrant installing the AC few days at most. This year we just need to figure a way to harvest the heat and save it till winter. Geothermal heat anyone?

Doesn't make much sense to say "turn the AC down" for the temp in the room to go up, does it? But I think that's how most mean it. They say that when they are cold.
If someone tells me to "turn the AC down" I don't assume they are talking about the temperature. I assume they are asking for less AC.
This ambiguity is the reason why we'uns say "Turn the thermostat up/down". But then again we don't generally comprehend that there are things like heat pumps and compressors; just that the magic box on the wall can control the weather in the house.
And for people with real money there's a magic box on each floor.
