Default Age shift?

Is it just me or do you other Vintage owners notice a much younger poster in the S2000 Talk Forum. I seem to notice that some topics are really borderline Ricer stuff.
Maybe I'm getting grumpy or more set in my ways but recently the topics have changed.
Has anyone else noticed this? I guess with the older, high mileage cars getting more affordable it is bound to happen.

unfortunately as the car gets older and cheaper the demographic changes. As the demographic changes the quality of discussion certainly has as well

As a matter of fact, I noticed just the opposite.

Many years ago the S2000Talk forum became a sort of no mans land. If you tried to have a serious/rational conversation or discussion there, in no time it would break down into a flamefest. That's a good part of the reason that the Vintage Forum was formed.

In the last few weeks I started a few threads here in Vintage and started the same threads in S2000Talk just to see how younger people would respond. The threads were "Was the S2000 your first sports car", "How do you define sports car" and another one whose title escapes me at the moment. I wanted to get younger people's point of view, and I wanted to see how they would respond. I fully expected a lot of noise, nonsense and flames.

While there was a little bit of noise and nonsense, much to my surprise most of the responses were well written, well thought out and rather good. Most were written in proper English and contained full sentences and punctuation. I found very little internet shorthand, and very few flames. I also have a "Registry" thread going in S2000Talk, and most of the people are giving me their data in a clear and concise way. The few who are commenting are doing so in a reasonably well written way.

Without question, there is still some noise there and some silly threads like, "How do you pick up girls in an S2000", but for the most part, in the threads that I've started I've been pleasantly surprised. As a matter of fact, some of the responses provide a different point of view and a whole different approach to those here in Vintage, and most of them have been worth reading. I have found it refreshing to listen to the younger people who post in S2000Talk.

ralper's response surprised me and made me think again (am i the grumpy one??), so i went back to s2000 talk and quickly found 2 threads starting with PO'd (but using the work's), one about a car show fail ,one debating the age old nsx vs s2k and the mentioned "how do i pick up girls" . I'm sorry but have to agree with oaksmith, or i'm getting grumpy too.

I'll admit there are a number of those threads in S2000Talk, but there is also some good there too.

All the forums, including this one, have gone through different phases as different personalities have emerged. C-three and others over time steered many with similiar interests into corals where there was less clashing of interests - track vs street racing, ricing vs moding, vintage vs non-vintage, and so on. I haven't visited S2000Talk in so long I couldn't say one way or another if it's better, worse, or the same. As Rob said, there was some real knock-down-dragged-out-heated-words right from it's beginning with a hand-full of people. And, some were asked to leave. It's likely the place most new owners start out. My quess is the average age has dropped as the cars are recycled but who knows..... I just sold mine to someone who's 69.

I haven't been to S2000Talk in a long time. I didn't notice it becoming less mature at the time I left. There had always been some of that element. I left because it became too predictable. It was the same threads with the same responses over and over. I eventually quit reading the SoCal forum for the same reason.
