Default Air chaos.

more and more we are seeing folks snapping and acting poorly in airlines.
I have a simple thought: stop treating folks like cattle and maybe they will act better.
Start with returning seat spacing to something that will accommodate a grown adult instead of 10% females and 5% males and children.
"in case of an air emergency, place head between knees" knees? i can't even see my knees I had to push them down so i would fit.
I'm not petite, i am overweight.a little but at 6'1" and 250 I am not a small man. I have a large frame. My hips are 18.5 wide bone to bone, from my back to my knee caps are 26"
I simply refuse to fly cattle car.
And stop shaking down passengers for luggage. It makes boarding that much more of ordeal as everyone tries to jam the over heads.

Also, keeping people locked on an airplane on the tarmac for insane amounts of hours keeps happening too. If that happened to me I would go bonkers for sure.

IMHO the key word here is "AIRLINES". The lines start when leaving home and getting stuck in traffic, then with the TSA, As one that use to travel via airlines over 220 days a year I don't understand why people act the way that they do?

After 11 September 01 and then with Covid the terrorist and Covid have caused the airlines to suck all of the joy out of flying. With that stated: We have a societal problem in this country. Some people have lost any sense of civility. Road rage, shootings, rudeness, etc., that are not hallmarks of a civil society. These days flight attendants, police, fire fighters and the like all have my empathy if not sympathy.

Alcohol is often part of the equation too.

FWIIW: Back in the mid 80's I was on a Streched DC-8 on a flight from Milwaukee to LAX that wound up being diverted to Ontario Airport in Southern California, due to LAX being fogged in. We were on the airplane for a total of fifteen hours. After we landed because so many planes were diverted to Ontario there were no gates/jet ways available. So we sat on the ramp without external power (APU) it got so hot that the flight attendants opened all of the doors to get some ventilation. We had to stay on the plane until they could get buses to take us to LAX. At one point (even though it was at night) they brought out a portable staircase so those who wanted could get off of the plane and were told to stay close to the fuselage and NOT TO SMOKE! A few idiots lit up their cigarettes and that action caused every back on board. However, no body lost control. I can only imagine what would happen today?

That would be my worst nightmare travel-wise, I don't like to travel more than 4-5 hours on any flight, getting stuck for that long and without climate control, good lord that is terrible.

Haven't flown in many years. By the time you get to the airport (in traffic) to arrive 2+ hours before your flight, to maybe sit at the gate or tarmac, sometimes driving is just easier and more pleasant.
There are places I'd like to see in the US to which I'd rather not drive, but we'll see.

Covid is ramping up again....people will still be crazy and fussing about masks.

I hate flying. We drive to Naples every year. Stop and see family and friends on the way down. Visit Savannah or Charleston and stay with friends in Punta Gorda for a few days.

We used to road trip it to Florida every summer for 13 years. We did about 20 hours of driving over 2 days, we took our time , we seen some great sights along the way, and we ate well. Our son started going with us when he was 2 years old, and he never made a fuss. We would meet up with some friends who flew there, by the time they factored in the airport time they had 12+ hour days travelling , their kids would arrive screaming and yelling, they were all miserable and it took them a couple days to adjust back to normal. We had no interest in flying as there was little benefit.
