Patty, sorry, I just saw this...

Sadly, my S ("Nebuchadnezzar") was more than dirty... it had major rust damage after being driven daily through 13 New England winter and almost 200K mi.

The 2010 Miata that replaced it is no comparison... BUT, it is a nice car in its own right. It is, sadly, not a great winter car primarily because it has an open diff. I may address that in time with a replacement, but for now I keep it off the road if there's anything even remotely white or black (ice) on them. :)

A little ironic coincidence... a few months ago I gave Neb to my son, who is currently in the process of grafting some aftermarket body panels on it and restoring it. He is the one I just mentioned to Jerry that works at the dealership that Jerry sold his car to (Wagner). :) My son sent me that picture above, and I immediately knew whose car it was. Funny, small world of S2000s! :) Around here, there are scarce few Suzuka Blues running around, especially AP1s

By the way, best wishes :hello:

[edit: for the record, this is just one of the rusted out spots on Neb that my son is fixing :] Yeah, this is cringeworthy.

You had a blue inside blue, too! I loved my 2005. I had no idea an S2000 could rust like that. You sure got your money and miles worth out of it!

Yup, dark blue interior, Suzuka exterior.

I sure did, Patty. Loved that car from the day I bought it, and I still do. I had to face reality, though, that it needed restoration. I'm still ticked off that Honda hasn't produced a new S, but frankly if it were anything like the NSX I wouldn't be interested anyway. Give me the formula that brought us the S2000 again, I say! Mazda has figured out how to stay true to the Miata concept for almost 30 years... I'm just sayin'! :)

Did you consider buying a used S2000? That's what I did. My 2005 had 100,000 miles on it so I bought a 2007 with 11,000 miles and sold the 2005. I sell cars when I get 100,000 miles on them.

^8-21-2013. JWhen I just got the 2007 Laguna Blue from Raleigh, NC. Had it shipped.

:) I did consider it, Patty, but honestly with the car out of production for almost 10 years now, I decided it was time to move on.

That Laguna Blue is really nice! I'm not sure if I've ever seen one of those around here. Maybe.... I remember back in the day trying to get Tokyo_James to sell me his Monte Carlo Blue (I think that's what it was called) from Japan. Turned out to be completely un-doable because of NHTSA and emissions regulations, but I think your color is fabulous.

Rock on! :hello:
