I wonder how the contract of the show works.

The the example above, hot talent, unrefined but a true discovery.
What stops a record label from showing up and just signing him?
I suppose even if they did they want to keep him on the show for the publicity.

Neat article!! Wow, that little fella had never EVEN been on a plane!!! Makes it even better that he appears to be so talented. Im not sure how this show does it, but on American Idol just to audition you are required to sign a 2 year exclusive contract with the show, namely simon cowells entertainment company 19 entertainment i think is the name.

Therefore any talent uncovered at any point and any $ made there after for 2 years they have their hands in.
