"Lurk"

Now, that's one of those words that starts to sound REALLY strange if you repeat it enough (especially out loud).

It's also almost a one-syllable tongue twister, because it's hard to pronounce correctly during this repetition process -- it starts becoming "lurkle lurkle lurkle".

And why in the world people on the street look at me strangely is something I'll never understand! HPH

You walk into the room with your pencil in your hand,
You see somebody naked and you say, "Who is that man",
You try so hard, but you just don't understand,
Just what you will say when you get home.

Because something is happening here,
But you don't know what it is,
Do you, Mr. Jones?

Alot of peeps on the site use the New Posts function at the top of the page...so I'm sure it wouldn't take long for them to view any new thread.

Wow! Back on topic!

Yeah, but what surprised me is how fast -- I mean literally seconds. Given the relatively small number of people on this particular part of S2Ki, it just seems odd. I expect what's going on is that that count is related not to actual reads of a thread but to some kind of "citation", like inclusion in a New Posts listing. And there are also those ubiquitous search-bots roaming around out there, too. HPH
