There are rumors out there that Apple is considering acquiring Mclaren. lock stock and barrel.

Please allow me to be so bold as to suggest, for the record, that such an endeavor would result in utter failure.
Both marks are known for anachronistic tendencies of doing things "their way" .
I just can't see those cultures ever melding.

 

Further on that very subject. I cannot see Apple even being interested in McLaren's Applied Technology section for their own use.

If McLaren is light years ahead of Apple on something automotive-wise (and that would make sense, as Apple has let go 2/3rds+ of their car staff), Apple will license it.

An iPhone's guts are not solely programmed by Apple engineers: there's stuff way before the UI level. As I said in Car Talk, this smells a lot like a Patent/Licensing Party.
